Brothers In Arms...."How do you feel about snow"?
Basically, i got an xbox 360 elite back in january for my eighteenth birthday, and Brothers In Arms: Hells Highway was the first game i ever bought. Well im obssesed with the second world war, in particular the 101st airbourne division, so this game is like the greatest game in the world in my opinion. Im a bit obssesed with realism when it comes to games, which makes this the only second world war first person shooter (that is after the Medal of Honour games became lame and almost arcade like) that i can seriously enjoy playing. But after playing it pretty much every other day for five months im getting really desperate for the next one. At the end of Hells Highway someone says to Baker "How do you feel about snow" or something along those lines. I pressume from this they're talking about the battle of the bulge, seen as thats where the 101st where sent next, which means thats where the next one is going to be sent. But apparently Hells Highway didn't sell to well, which i dont quite understand seen as it's the greatest game ever created, which now gives me cause to worry that they're not going to make another one, or if they do not for years and years. It was released back in 2008 and i havn't found anything on the internet that suggests they're making another one. If so, im going to be playing hells highway for the next seventy odd years that im alive, which sucks. Geeky game ramble over.
Here's a really good song with the word 'War' in the title.

Locations
My band 'The Woods' recorded some songs a few weeks ago, and i thought i'd upload my favorite one. It's called 'Locations'. It's pretty Pop and tiny bit sixties-ish, aswell as being quite catchy. The picture accompanying it is us with our bassists brother (bald guy) and some dude called kenny (guy at the back peering over). So download it, what have you got to loose? You never know, you might like it...in which case here's a link to our horrific looking myspace which has like eight other songs on it.

I've been looking for this EP ever since i found the single whilst going through my dads vinyl collection. I put it on, and having only ever herd some sort of shite ministry of sound remix before hand, fell instantly in love with the songs greatness. Finally, earlier on today, i found this. There's all kinds of wonderous versions on here.

Muxtape Is Here!
Oh yeah The Woods have a muxtape! Only thing is i dont really know how to do it so it kinda sucks a little bit. At some point there will be some horrendously bad quality demo's available to listen to on there, but first i have to work out how to use it. So yeah, if you have a spare minute with nothing else to do, or fancy checking out some music you probably wont like, have a look.

Lady Gaga - The Fame Monster (2009)
1. Bad Romance
2. Alejandro
3. Monster
4. Speechless
5. Dance In The Dark
6. Telephone (feat. Beyoncé)
7. So Happy I Could Die
8. Teeth
Lady Gaga is someone i at one point hated, like really hated. 'Just Dance' is still one of the most annoying pop songs ever recorded in my mind. But once i got over the lameness of that record, i discovered that i actually have so much love for her. Her second effort 'The Fame Monster' is nothing short of a pop masterpiece! Almost every track stands out and could easily be used as a single. 'Bad Romance' which is going to be the first release off her second record is as lady gaga as it gets, meaning very electronic, repetative lyrics and of course a raunchy and somewhat confusing video. If i could choose one song off the record to release, it would be 'Telephone', for the pure fact that i cant get it out of my head and it features beyonce. If you get this album, avoid 'Speechless' as it's just poor and shouldn't be allowed to be a part of an album full of such pop gems.

Cheryl Cole - Fight For This Love
The first time i herd this i thought it was just plain awful, but after a few plays it's actually an ok pop song. Nothing compared to Girls Aloud, but it's fine for her first single going solo. The video on the other hand kinda sucks.

Pixie Lott - Turn It Up (2009)
1. Mama Do
2. Cry Me Out
3. Band Aid
4. Turn It Up
5. Boys And Girls
6. Gravity
7. My Love
8. Jack
9. Nothing Compares
10. Here We Go Again
11. The Way The World Works
12. Hold Me In Your Arms
Ok, first things first, i love this album. It's pop at it's best, which means it's catchy, radio friendly, a bit cheesy, happy, and of course pixie lott is incredibly beautiful. Both her singles have gone straight to number one, and rightly so! From the moment i herd her debut single 'Mama Do' i've been excited about this album, and unlike alot of albums i've been looking forward to this year, i thankfully havn't been dissapointed. For me 'Boys And Girls', her second single, is my favorite, so im happy that it's currently residing at number one in the uk charts. 'Turn It Up' is another of my faves, and should deffinatly be one of her next singles, i can really see it doing well in the charts as it's about as catchy as a song can get and the lyrics are pretty awsome. When i think about it, i find her incredible. She's only eighteen years old, that's only a year older than me for christ's sake, and she's written and recorded such a rad album full of pop gems.

Dizzee Rascal - Tounge 'N' Cheek (2009)
1. Bonkers
2. Road Rage
3. Dance Wiv Me
4. Freaky Freaky
5. Can’t Tek No More
6. Chillin’ Wiv Da Man Dem
7. Dirtee Cash
8. Money, Money
9. Leisure
10. Holiday
11. Bad Behaviour
I kinda thought i wasn't going to like this album, i dunno why but for some reasons i just had low expectations. I love his first three albums, and like everyone else i overplayed 'Bonkers' untill i was sick of it, but even with all that in mind i still just havn't been particularly excited about his new album. Luckily, i've been proven wrong! 'Tounge N Cheek' is a great record, it's really that simple. He's realeased three singles from the album and they've all gone to number one, which speaks for itself i suppose. I'd have to say my personal favorite song from the latest Dizzee record would have to be 'Money, Money', the edgy, fast rapping reminds me of his earlier work and wouldn't be out of place on 'Boy In Da Corner'. 'Road Rage' just sounds like a mess of electronic noise, but yet i still love it. 'Bad Behaviour', 'Holiday' and 'freaky Freaky' are also all great tunes. Perhaps the only poor point of the album is 'leisure', which is just a boring, shit song. But other than that, it's a top album and a fine piece of work from the man that is Dizzee Rascal.

Little Comets - Adultery (Promo) (2009)
I've said before of my love for Little Comets, in my eyes they're one of the hottest new things out there. Their previous single 'One Night in October' can be described as nothing less that sensational, and the new single is in no way a let down. I've had the demo of this for quite a while, i think i may of even uploaded it at some point...hmmm? 'Adultery' is another catchy, clever concuction from the shefield indie pop group that will have the same kind of impact on you as their previous single. I love it!
Adultery from little comets on Vimeo.
Look What My Buddy Did Today!
For his media work, he took this. Kinda simple and cliche, but still kinda nice i guess.

The Wraith
So this is another film that i've fallen in love with over the last few days...The Wraith. Basically, a couple of weeks ago i caught the last 20 or so minutes of this film on tv. I had never herd of it before but i instantly liked it, so i decided to order it off amazon, which with some other stuff came on the wednesday just gone. I watched the whole film for the first time last night and i just have mad love for it.
The Wraith is about a gang of street racers, lead by Pacard walsh (Nick Cassavetes), who basically go around racing and intimidating people into giving them their cars. Everyone is scared of him, including his girlfriend Keri Johnson (Sherilyn Fenn), who hates him but is too scared to leave him. But then Jake (Charlie Sheen), who is also the wraith btw, kills off each member of the gang one by one by racing and crashing into them. Oh and i forgot to say that Jake, used to be Jamie, a boy who was murdered by Pacard and his gang when he was caught sleeping with Keri. Ok so it doesn't sound like it makes a whole lot of sense, but it's a great eighties movie and apparently is based on true story.
Ok so some of the reasons to watch this film, other than me saying that it's amazing, are charlie sheen, the insanely cool cars of which there are plenty, pacards rather attractive girlfriend, the special effects, and of course the soundtrack. The soundtrack is one of the aspects that really stood out for me, put simply, it's about as good as a soundtrack gets!
So here it is:
1. Where's The Fire - Tim Feehan
2. Those Were The Days - Honeymoon Suite
3. Hearts Vs Heads - Stan Bush
4. Hold On Blue Eyes - La Marcha
5. Young Love, Hot Love - Jill Michaels
6. Secret Loser - Ozzy Osbourne
7. Never Surrender - Lion
8. Bad Mistake - James House
9. Wake Up Call - Ian Hunter
10. Matter Of The Heart - Bonnie Tyler

Hockey - Mind Chaos (2009)
1. Too Fake
2. 3am Spanish
3. Learn To Lose
4. Work
5. Song Away
6. Curse This City
7. Wanna Be Black
8. Four Holy Photos
9. Preacher
10. Put The Game Down
11. Everyone's The Same Age
I used to think hockey were just another boring indie band, but then the other day i herd 'Song Away'. i realised that i may of judged them both too harshly and too quickly, so i got the album and was pleasently surprised. The highlights for me are 'Song Away', which is just a great tune that's both catchy and witty, and 'Preacher' with it's funky bassline that i have just fallen in love with. The vocals are very Julian Casablancas, infact the music itself is quite alike to that of The Strokes. But that's surely a good thing, right?
